This holiday weekend we got to hop on a jet plane and head to sunny sunny (and humid) Florida! Did I mention it was humid? Sheesh. So different than dry Utah. But it was a fantastic weekend. Rhett got to see the ocean for the first time. At first he...well he hated it. We spent over an hour getting all of our beach gear together, getting sunscreened up, unloading the car etc all for about 10 minutes at the actual beach. She has dementia so sometimes she prefers to stay in her own world, but when she saw Rhett she just lit up. She wanted him to sit on her lap, hold his hand, she smiled and laughed when he toddled around. She was a nurse in WWII and received a Medal of Honor  for her service. She gave us so much of her beautiful furniture when we got married because she was entering a retirement home. I am so grateful for these pieces for mulitple reasons. One, we got to start married life with real chairs and a table and furniture that made our apartment feel like a home, not a dorm. Two, her taste and style has influenced me to redo furniture and has helped me find my style. They inspire me. I love the warm swirls in the wood of the half round and the hand detail in the drawers. Not monetarily, but for what they mean to us. Farmer's Market

As I sit here typing this I am sincerly grateful that we survived this weekend. On Friday morning Rhett woke up with the stomach flu. Poor little man. When he get's sick we've had to take him to the hospital for an IV because he dehydrates easily so we were worried. Thankfully he seemed fine for most of the day, so we kept up a harried pace, trying to finish all the odds and ends we needed to get done for the market the next day. In the middle of all this we were told we had a tent to borrow, then that we didn't have one, then that we did and back and forth till we finally got our hands on one. Around 6PM we went to dinner with some friends and when we got home I promptly threw up my dinner and passed out on our bed for an hour.<br /><br />All those aforementioned odds and ends equaled us being up till 1:30AM. Ugh. I don't know how I used to do that every night when I was still in school. And Rhett got sick again around 11PM that night.<br /><br />We got up at 6AM and got everything loaded into the truck and headed over.
